Senior Vice President for Finance and Operational Innovation
Manhattanville University invites nominations and applications for the position of Senior Vice President for Finance and Operational Innovation (SVP). Manhattanville, a thriving, private institution providing a transformative education grounded in the liberal arts, seeks a bold and collaborative leader who is eager to play a transformative role in preparing the University to serve tomorrow’s learners.
As a senior member of President Frank D. Sánchez, Ph.D.’s cabinet, the SVP will play a vital role in advancing Manhattanville’s mission to educate ethical and socially responsible leaders while positioning the University as a nationally recognized institution distinguished by its commitment to educational excellence, belonging, and global impact.
Manhattanville enrolls 1,466 undergraduate and 1,046 graduate students and offers 55 undergraduate and more than 70 graduate degree programs on its scenic 100-acre campus in Purchase, New York and through online offerings. In 2024, the institution transitioned from Manhattanville College to Manhattanville University, a historic milestone in its nearly 200-year history. The University experienced a 9% increase in undergraduate enrollment and 20% increase in transfer enrollment in the last year, along with consecutive years of growth in graduate programs and retention.
Reporting to the president, the SVP will be an experienced, adaptable, collaborative leader with demonstrated success in leading a diverse team. The SVP will oversee human resources, facilities, finance, and campus safety. Manhattanville University seeks a chief financial officer who understands the nonprofit higher education landscape and is eager to play a transformative role in preparing the University to serve tomorrow’s leaders. The SVP will come to the University as a thought leader ready to employ the latest best practices and lead University innovation and change. The SVP will have strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to the mission and values of Manhattanville University. The SVP will serve as a trusted strategic advisor to the President and Board, providing clear and accurate data, financial modeling, and risk assessment in evaluating strategic initiatives.
A Master’s degree in Business, Finance, Operations Management or another field related to the role is required along with 10+ years of financial leadership experience, and experience and familiarity with auditing and GAAP principles is required.
Additional required qualifications include: Experience preparing and managing cash flows; experience securing and managing capital improvements financing; proven success using data to inform the development of innovative approaches to financial management and operations; experience engaging with senior leadership to further a shared strategic vision; excellent people management skills, including the ability to inspire innovation and bring people together to work toward a common goal; strong interpersonal and written communication skills; and a desire to be an active member of the Manhattanville community and University representative to appropriate regional and national organizations/associations.

Salary:
Salary commensurate with experience and will range from $250,000-300,000.
