Description
Dean, School of Business Administration
Widener University invites applications, expressions of interest, and nominations of candidates in its search for a new Dean of the School of Business Administration (SBA). The University seeks a visionary, strategic, and collaborative leader who will play a central role in shaping the success, growth, and future trajectory of the School.
The new Dean will work creatively and collaboratively to ensure that all programs offered by the School of Business Administration are academically excellent, aligned with the needs of the profession and the world, and delivered in ways that are convenient and accessible to today’s students. The Dean will provide leadership to create a shared vision articulating the SBA’s aspirations in teaching, student achievement, scholarship, and service; oversee the process of AACSB reaccreditation; assess Widener’s current academic programs and develop new ones; promote and prioritize faculty recruitment, retention, and mentorship; lead the School’s student success and recruitment efforts; serve as a passionate advocate, both internally and externally, for the SBA’s students, faculty, staff, alumni, and external stakeholders; build even richer and more productive relationships with leading businesses in the region; and promote, maintain, and strengthen the SBA’s inclusive culture of belonging.
The dean reports to the interim Provost and also serves as a member of the Executive Team, a group that brings together the President’s Leadership Team and academic leadership for bi-weekly planning and strategy development. The ideal candidate will bring a personal leadership style that harmonizes with Widener’s collegial and collaborative campus culture that is deeply grounded in integrity and ethical decision-making. In addition, the Dean will have earned a terminal degree in business or a closely related field and have a demonstrated record of scholarship and service that merits appointment as a tenured full professor at Widener University. This is a full-time position that will be performed on site in Pennsylvania. Salary commensurate with experience with a generous benefits package.
