The USA Health Department of Family Medicine in Mobile, Alabama, is seeking a full-time, board- certified Family Medicine faculty member interested in a unique medical student educationopportunityattheUniversityofSouthAlabamaWhiddonCollegeofMedicine.The primary purposeof thisposition is to lead the Medical Student Education in the department. The director will lead medical student education initiatives within the department to include pre-clinical students, the family medicine 3rd year clerkship, a longitudinal Primary Care Pathway, fourth year electives, and a post-baccalaureate program in collaboration with the College of Allied Health.
Responsibilities:
Providesmentorshipforcommunityadjunctfacultyatclinicalsitesaswellasdepartmental faculty engaged in medical student education.
Preparesanddeliversfacultydevelopmentcontentforfamilymedicinepreceptors,including adjunct community and departmental faculty engaged in medical student education.
Participatesinevaluationsandassessmentsofeducationalcontent,clinicalteaching,andthe learning environment of the department and community-based faculty and their sites.
Planningandoverseeingtheeducationalexperience,curriculumcontent,studentassessment, and program evaluation in the Family Medicine clerkship, fourth-year electives, the Primary Care Pathway, and assisting with the development of the post-baccalaureate experience.
Maintains a working relationship with the Office of Medical Education and Office of Student Affairs to include in maintaining and adjusting the educational structure, learning objectives, requiredclinicalexperiences,didacticcurriculum,andassessmentswhenappropriatethatmeet the goals of the clerkship experience and the overall medical education program.
